The day has finally come! We can now officially jailbreak almost any of our devices using the new Pangu jailbreak. Here’s how to jailbreak iOS 9 using Pangu!

  • Supported Devices:
    • iPhone 6S
    • iPhone 6S Plus
    • iPhone 6
    • iPhone 6 Plus
    • iPhone 5S
    • iPhone 5C
    • iPhone 5
    • iPhone 4S
    • iPad (2, 3, 4, Air, Air 2, mini 1, mini 2, mini 3)
    • iPod touch 5
  • Supported Firmwares:
    • iOS 9.0.2
    • iOS 9.0.1
    • iOS 9.0

BEFORE YOU JAILBREAK, MAKE SURE THESE CONDITIONS ARE MET:

  • Do a backup to your computer in iTunes
  • Turn OFF Find My iPhone
  • Log OUT of iCloud
  • Remove any passcode/Touch ID from your device
  • Make sure you have a bit of space on your iDevice (don’t do this if your device’s storage is almost full)
  • Ensure your device is trusted by your computer
  • Put your device into Airplane mode
  • This only currently works on Windows (8 and 10) machines right now
  • Make SURE that you have iTunes 12.3 installed

Steps to Jailbreak iOS 9 on Windows:

  1. Download the Pangu Jailbreak tool here
  2. Connect your device to your computer. Make sure it’s Trusted. If iTunes pops up, close it.
  3. Find where you downloaded Pangu, right-click on it, select “Run as Administrator”.
  4. Unplug your device, and then re-plug it in. Close iTunes again if it pops up.
  5. Click the “Jailbreak” button to begin jailbreaking your device. This process will only take a couple minutes. Follow all of the instructions that PanguĀ prompts you to do. (Like re-enabling airplane mode when it asks you to, opening the Pangu app, and enabling it access to photos).
  6. You’re done! Your device will reboot and you should be good to go. When you unlock your device, you should see Cydia. If you don’t, and you only see the Pangu app, just repeat the steps above ^. It took us two tries, it’s not big deal.
  7. Now find Cydia and open it for the first time to load everything up.
  8. Now install any/all updates within Cydia.
  9. Next, search within Cydia for “Cydia Substrate” and install that.
  10. That’s all! You’re now finished.

Enjoy! Let us know if you have any questions!

Chipgate

iPhone 6s Chipgate – Did You Get the Slow Apple Processor?

The new iPhone 6s is a great phone, but did yours come with TSMC’s chip? Or Samsung’s chip? If yours came equipped with the latter, we have bad news for you. This is where #chipgate comes in. That chip runs slightly hotter, slower, and kills battery up to 20% quicker. The Samsung chip is worse all-around. Want to check which chip you’ve got? Watch our video below to find out how!

iPhone 7

iPhone 7 To Be As Thin As iPod Touch

The iPhone 6S still hasn’t even been officially announced, yet we’re already hearing rumors that the iPhone 7 will be as thin as the iPod touch lineup. This speculation is thanks to KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. In one of his recent reports, he states that in 2016 ( a year from now), Apple could release the iPhone 7 with the thinness of an iPod touch. The current iPod touch is 6.1mm thin. Kuo suggests that Apple may be pushing to make the iPhone 7 between 6.0mm and 6.5mm thin. Right now, the iPhone 6 comes in at 6.9mm thin, and the iPhone 6 Plus is at 7.1 mm thin. The iPhone 6S is reportedly going to be about 7.1mm thin and the iPhone 6S Plus will be around 7.3mm thin.

So what does all this mean? Well, for starters, Apple is uppingĀ the thickness of the iPhone 6S this year, probably because they’re tired of replacing people’s bent iPhones. But there could also be yet another reason. Apple is sneaky, and this year if the iPhone 6S is 7.1mm, and next year they release the iPhone 7 at 6.1mm, they have a great selling point, that the iPhone 7 is “1 whole mm thinner than the previous generation!”. Clever right?

With all this in mind, it’s helpful to understand why so thin? Personally, we’d rather see improved battery life on our device rather than a razor thin iPhone. Thin does look good, though. Kuo believes the iPhone 7 will stick to the in-cell touch panel rather than opt for the glass-on-glass. With glass-on-glass, we would possibly see a bezel-free iPhone which would be sweet! But alas, Apple wants to have fewer production issues, and using glass-on-glass could slow production down considerably.

Here’s what we think Apple wants. Apple wants us to use our Apple Watch more and rely less on the iPhone. If people did this, they’d notice their iPhone battery not deplete as quickly. However Apple needs to understand that not everyone has an Apple Watch, nor does everyone want one.

So what do you think? Wouldn’t you rather a slightly thicker iPhone if it meant we didn’t have to carry around backup batteries all the time?

Final Predictions for iPhone 6S

The event where Apple will unveil the iPhone 6S to the world is coming quickly, just under 3 days away. We decided to compile a definitive list of all of the rumors we’ve heard, and put only the ones we’re pretty sure are correct. We feel confident about this list.

Let’s cut to the good stuff. Here’s what we’re expecting:

  1. A9 Processor
  2. Similar (almost the same) design as the iPhone 6
  3. 2 GB RAM
  4. 12 Megapixel Back Camera
  5. 5 Megapixel Front Camera (for even more beautiful selfies…)
  6. 7000 Series aluminum (about 2x as strong as aluminum currently used on iPhone 6/6+)
  7. Force Touch (Or 3D Touch)
  8. Improved Touch ID
  9. New color option: Rose Gold
  10. Possibly a darker “gray” on Space Gray color variant
  11. Sold in 16, 64, 128 GB capacities.
  12. Slightly smaller battery than iPhone 6 (but with iOS 9 efficiency, should get the same or better battery life than iPhone 6)
  13. No sapphire display

Release date? Well, the event is on September 9, 2015. Pre-orders will likely begin on September 11, 2015, and a likely release date for the iPhone 6S will be September 18, 2015.
